Ric Zimmerman is a Los Angeles lighting designer, lighting director and programmer for live entertainment and events, with a focus on creating beautiful environments that look great on camera. Corporate design and direction work includes Microsoft, Disney, Verizon, Warner Brothers, STX Studios, Tinder, Samsung, Panasonic, Boeing, BMW, Chevron, YouTube, Airbnb, Warner Brothers, Center Theatre Group, the NHRA, Tecmo Koei, Telefilm and the Hard Rock Cafe.  Lighting for camera and broadcast includes ESPN as well as work for Blizzard, Microsoft, NHL, Allied Esports, and Twitch.  Theatrical lighting design collaborators include Rogue Machine, Circle X, The Fountain Theatre, Theatre of Note, Company of Angels, Theatre Forty, The Vagrancy, Wicked Lit, The Visceral Company, Civic Light Opera of South Bay Cities, The Neighborhood Playhouse, Vanguard Repertory,The Madrid Theatre and many more.

Ric’s dance lighting designs have taken him around the continental US, Mexico, Canada, Russia, China, New Zealand and Brazil. Selected dance collaborators: L.A. Contemporary Dance Company, Helios Dance Theatre, Navarasa Dance Theatre, Royal Flux, Rhapsody in Taps, Danza Floricanto, EDGE, Troupe Vertigo and Viver Brasil among others.

Ric has twice been honored as Lighting Designer of the Year by StageSceneLA. He received his BA in Music Composition from Loyola Marymount University. He programs GrandMA2, EOS and HOG, plays piano and makes a mean stew.
