MUDA consists of two first-generation American women of color. Danielle Yasuda is a multifaceted choreographer, botanical artist, and designer. Maritza Navarro is a choreographer, director, and producer. As MUDA, they create multimedia dance work that presents diverse and inclusive stories that highlight mental health, questions of identity, and family themes, specifically the generational impact of immigration and racism. Incorporating first-person testimonials, art direction, movement and immersive theater, MUDA sparks conversations with audiences about difficult subjects.

MUDA's movement is based around the concept of capturing an emotion or story through the body. Embodiment. Their Embodyment Workshops create a space where mindfulness, meditation and movement come together for an evening of embodied release, from the inside out. The meditation focuses on targeting different emotions, difficulties + traumas held in the body and this expands to gently moving through them physically. The hope is that each person leaves having found a better connection with their body + having released some tension.  Created for all bodies + all levels.
