Brian Golden
Choreographer

 

Brian Golden is a senior BFA dance major at Chapman University. Brian has choreographed a duet for the Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Company Choreography Lab. He was awarded second place at the IAF Choreographers Exhibit and received third place at New Century Dance Project in Salt Lake City, Utah. Brian was awarded the Grand Prize for “CO:VID” a collaborative video experiment competition produced by Mike Esperanza.  He has danced/choreographed for Hallmarks Hollywood Christmas Parade and choreographed for “Shift/West” a residency under the direction of Deborah Brockus. Brian recently completed a residency with the Batsheva Dance Company in Israel and has completed intensives with the TL Collective, Ate9 Dance Company, and Vertigo Dance Company. 

Brian is interested in creating dance theater pieces by exploring elements of contrast, abstract facial expressions, spoken word, and props. He uses these tools to create atmospheres that can be striking, confusing, and comical.
