Alexandra Rix is originally from Western Massachusetts and made the move to Los Angeles in 2015 to continue her dance education at California State University Long Beach. While in school, Rix received the Elizabeth Vyse Dean’s Scholarship for Distinction of the Arts, helping her complete her BFA in Dance and BA option in Dance Science. Rix works as a Certified Massage Therapist, specializing in providing accessible bodywork for the dance community, and as a Freelance Dancer throughout the greater LA area. A few of Rix’s performance highlights include: performing in three installments of NEW SHOES at HIGHWAYS Performance Space, the Odyssey Theater as part of their Dance at the Odyssey series, and site-specific works in Lewiston, ME and Lucca, Italy. In addition to the training she received at CSULB, Rix has attended Bates Dance Festival three times as a participant and most recently, as a Mentor for their Young Dancers Workshop. She is currently working with Summation Dance, Acts of Matter, and Gianna Burright.
